I own this machine and I’m not impressed with it in the least. It’s going to be sold at my yardsale. I found that my ice cream wasn’t firm enough causing too much liquid to be generated when trying to quickly extract it from the mixing bowl and then it had to firm up in the freezer. This was too long a process for ice cream for me. I then read your reviews on the Lello Paolo so I decided to take the plunge and buy it when I had a 30% off coupon. I don’t regret this purchase for a second. This compressor makes the smoothest, quickest, densest ice cream ever, seriously. It also does a great job with sorbets. Clean up on it is a dream. I made a heavenly smoked bourbon vanilla ice cream that everyone raved about (I smoked the cream using the Polyscience Smoking Gun), as well as a mojito sorbet and a basil limoncello sorbet that were devine. The Lello changed my world. Thanks for your review.
Hi there Carolyn!
Thanks for getting in touch. Great to hear you went with the Lello. Yes I had the same problem with the Breville with the dasher stopping before enough of the mix had frozen, creating ice cream that was just a tad to runny.
All the best,
