Support my work on Patreon
I want to be able to spend significantly more time on research and publishing content here on the blog. If you would like to support my work, please consider doing so through one of the three membership tiers on Patreon.
My day job is running my small business, Rogue Artisan Ice Cream, here in Holmes Chapel, UK. What I would like to be able to do, however, is take a step back from Rogue Artisan Ice Cream and instead focus the majority of my time on research and publishing content on the blog.
Your support on Patreon will allow me to spend more time developing new dairy and vegan recipes, updating the recipes that are currently on the blog to make them easier to follow, impartially reviewing more ice cream machines, speaking with more interesting people for the podcast, and replying to more comments.
My background
I started this blog in 2011 whilst I was teaching in a primary school in South Korea.
In 2017, I started my small-batch ice cream business, Rogue Artisan Ice Cream, in my one-bedroom flat in Manchester, UK, before quickly moving into a shared workspace in Salford.
In 2018, I entered my Sicilian Bronte Pistachio and my Single-Origin Sumatran Coffee in the prestigious Great Taste Awards where both were awarded the highest rating, 3 GOLD STARS (only 192 products of 12,634 were awarded 3 GOLD STARS). My Sicilian Bronte Pistachio then went on to finish in the top 17 out of 12,634 products entered by winning the Golden Fork for the north of England award.
In 2021, I outgrew my small kitchen space in Salford and moved into a larger unit on a dairy farm just south of Manchester in a village called Holmes Chapel (it’s where Harry Styles grew up!) where I still operate from today.
Before launching the blog, I worked as an English teacher in Kuwait, Japan, South Korea, Portugal, Spain, and Cameroon
That’s about it so far.
